Dr. Claytor has practiced child, adolescent and young adult psychiatry in Central and Southwest Virginia for more than 20 years with a primary focus on child and adolescent psychiatry. He has had extensive training and real-world experience utilizing psychopharmacology to treat a multitude of psychiatric illnesses.
Dr. Claytor completed his psychiatric training at Georgetown University Medical Center in 1997, after graduating from the University of Virginia School of Medicine in 1993. He has primarily practiced in outpatient settings including Blue Ridge and Horizon Behavioral Healthcare, Family Preservation Services and National Counseling Group.
Monica Wiltjer, PA-C graduated physician assistant school at Jefferson College of Health Sciences in 2015. She attended East Carolina University and graduated in 2012 with a degree in nutrition science. While attending East Carolina University she worked at the Tar River Howell Center, a non-profit long-term care facility, and at Pitt Memorial Hospital, which focuses on children with special physical and mental needs. She brings experience in the business aspect of the practice and executes much of the financial and accounting components.
Originally hails from Iowa, and moved to Roanoke, Virginia in 1993. My career in the healthcare profession spans 40 years. My journey initially began in 1982 as an LPN, and in 1989 I obtained my Associates degree in nursing. Most of my career as an RN was as a ER nurse and a forensic nurse examiner for over 20 years, and served as an expert witness. In 2006, I obtained my BSN, and 2010 my MSN, both from Radford University, and shortly after graduating I became board certified in family medicine. 12 years as an FNP , I worked in many arenas; family medicine, psychiatry in private practice as well as well as geriatrics. I have also worked in urgent care, corrections, pain management, and inpatient drug rehab. I have 3 grown children and 5 grandchildren. Hobbies are making jewelry, and 3 years ago found a new passion, writing. I am a prolific and internationally renowned poet, authored two poetry books, a children’s book, and my poetry and short stories have been published in numerous online platforms, anthologies, and several Youtube productions. I am the founder of an online poetry group with over 30K members internationally. My goal is to someday publish my first novel. I pride myself in being a people builder, and feel it is important that all persons know that they have worth and purpose in this world.
Laura is a 2015 graduate of the Jefferson College of Health Sciences. She holds both a certification as a Physician Assistant and a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Psychiatry, both from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. Laura has experience working with both adolescents and adults in outpatient and inpatient settings.
